====FPS - First Person Shooter====
The archetypical gaming category. 
  *Half Life 2: Deathmatch
  *Counterstrike


====RTS - Real Time Strategy====
  *[[aoe2 |Age of Empires II The Conquerer's Expansion]]: This is the ultimate game. At the top of every list.
  *Anno 1404: a city-building game, suprisingly entertaining. I suggest doing storymode first, it can be rather intimidating.

====Dwarf Fortress====

==== Half Life 2 DeathMatch on Arch ====
This is actually really easy, you just need to have all the pieces before it will work.

In a 64bit (maybe 32, too?), go to /etc/pacman.conf and uncomment the following lines:

''[multilib]'' \\
''Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist''

Then run a pacman -Syy && pacman -Syu from root

Then get lib32-gcc - pacman -S lib32-glibc

Get the steam installer: wget http://www.steampowered.com/download/hldsupdatetool.bin and put it in a dir like srcds or whatever

chmod +x it, then ./ it. Agree to whatever, then ./steam. It will do some updates and whatever.

Run steam to get the actual game files - ./steam -command update -game "hl2mp" -dir .
