Dell Edge Gateway 3002
The Edge Gateway 3002 is one of a series of “IoT edge devices” that Dell introduced around 2019. There are three models in the 3000 series: the 3001, intended for general purpose “IoT stuff” with lots of GPIO, the 3002, which includes GPS, Zigbee, and CAN bus, and the 3003, which has displayport and is intended for digital signage applications. The 3001 and 3002 have no video output whatsoever.

- Four switches exist inside the device (two 2 switch modules) but it is not yet clear exactly what they do.
No user upgradable RAM/storage.
Local Console Access
The 3002 was designed to be accessed entirely over a network, and has no end user ways to accessing a local console. Under the lid there is a four pin JST micro connector (same physical connector as Qwiic) that can be used to access ttyS0, which has console output on boot. This is a 1v8 UART running at 115200,8n1.
UEFI Access
The 3002 has no video output, and was designed to have the BIOS be accessed via a tool called Dell Command Configure Version. This can be installed via debs available here:

Environmental Sensors
GNSS
The UBX-M8030 can be accessed via /dev/ttyHS1 running at 9600,8n1 by default. It supports three concurrent SVs (GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou) and is very sensitive. The GNSS module and WiFi+BT module share an RF connection for some reason, and as such the GNSS does not provide any power for an active antenna.
Temp/Humidity/Pressure/Accelerometer
The 3002 has three ST Micros environmental sensors that can be accessed through i2c sysfs. More info here.
Update Firmware
This may need to be done on one of the original dell-provided images. I'd recommend upgrading firmware before installing another OS.
